The Internet

You wouldn't be reading this right now if it weren't for the internet. However, lots of people take the internet for granted. They consider it a regular part of their daily lives, and look no deeper into it than that. The fact is, the internet is a massive, and I mean MASSIVE thing. There are people communicating all around the world. There are one hundred and fifty six MILLION websites and just under two BILLION people using the internet. It is used for EVERYTHING. From finding your soulmate, to expressing your "negative" opinion about the latest video game. You can reasearch and buy nearly everything online, and the thing is, that this tool has only been around for twenty years. Read about the creation of the internet HERE. The possibilities of this limitless service are unending.

Let's just take a moment to fathom the internet's reputation in out society. Think about the last time you were on the internet (other than right now). Was it a few hours ago? Or maybe you even went a WHOLE DAY without using it. Were you conscious of the complexity of the internet? Check this out for more information about how it works. The thing is, in our society we take the internet for granted. The new generation of people are completely naive as to how simple the internet makes our life. Need a recipe? Google it. Need directions? Mapquest. Have a hobby? Check out a forum. The internet lets us do almost everything by just typing a couple words. I could ramble about how laborous life was before the internet, but I wouldn't want to bore. My point is that, until I started thinking about this article, I hadn't even considered the beauty of the internet. I just took it for granted, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

The internet is beautiful. It's elegant, simple, easy to use, and full of information if you look at it one way. Look at it another, and it is a beast, full of laborous scripts and annoying people. It's all perspective.

Now THAT's spectactular.
